When this community first opened nearly two years ago, I honestly never expected it to be as successful as it has been. The original moderator asked me to lend a hand as her co-mod, and as time passed, I eventually took over the main duties. I have watched as this community has expanded. I have watched as the characters here have grown. Many others have come and gone, but so many have remained here for a year or more. A special thank you goes out to

ksweeney, who have been here since the beginning with
taft.
The community has definitely had its share of ups and downs. There have been moments of bustling activity, and there have been stretches of silence. And there have also been times when I have not been readily available due to personal issues. I want to especially thank the members of the community for their understanding, patience, and compassion. Life has not been particularly easy in the wake of a family illness, but your sympathy and support has been so incredibly moving. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your well wishes via comments, email, and texts. It means more to me than you will ever know.
I have always loved my duties here as a moderator, admittedly more than my characters at times. And I have repeatedly said that I will keep this community open as long as the writers are willing to write. But with the recent drop in activity, save for a few writers (thank you
harlowann and
acwright for your continued activity), I feel that the time has come to finally shut the doors here at
meetcute.
With that being said, I have created a button to clear your friends list. For those of you who are still interested in keeping in touch or writing together in a private group storyline setting, I will leave comments unscreened for you all to make arrangements.
